22re build help! (first time rebuilding)
So after 1/4 million miles my 1994 22re need much needed love.
Just got everything I needed, complete head, new crank, bearings, rods, and a honed engine block from a guy.
Anyways I got the crank in, main bearings in, and I was just checking my piston ring end gaps (with standard pistons and rings) and its at .077 in
The guy I bought it from said he was pretty sure the block was standard size, just honed. and from my measurements, from honing the cylinders are .00096 in over, or .02451mm over.
I'm flat on my ass finacially, as it sits I am currently homeless because I lost my job when I couldn't make the drive there. I can't afford to send it to get machined, literally I got like 50 bucks to my name. So the question is can I just buy .060 over sized piston rings to make the gap go down to .017
or am I ˟˟˟˟˟˟ed?
