Yesterday was the mud bogs and my truck wasnt ready BUT it motivated me and I got back to working on the runner today in my new garage in my new place.
Removed both sway bars, installed new speedo cable, reinstalled drivelines, Installed diff. breather tubes, fixed the intake leak, replaced all exhaust bolts from down pipe back,
In search of the oil leak still. I removed, cleaned, reinstalled the oil cooler. tightened oil pan bolts (2 in the rear missing).
Good shot of the rear showing the diff breather tube:

I just saw the angle on your panhard bar. Wow.
What did you do to get so much lift?
I have decided against a 3.4 swap. I'll be searching for a UZ. Not sure yet on the 1 or 2uz yet though.
That seal is between the tranny and engine correct? I too have a leak there.

I was considering the UZ motor but im building this as a reliable wheeler with the occasional d.d session if working on my other car. I did a 3.4 swap in a friends truck and it is the bees knees as far as power and reliability IMO.
Yeah the leak is from the two missing oil pan bolts at the rear of the motor/ front of the transmission. It kinda made it look like it was the rear main that I just replaced . I wiped down the whole underside and followed the drip trails to the oil pan so hopefully it will quit pissing oil.

FJ Coils seem like a good route. I have Pro Comp springs. From what I hear they settle after a year or so depending on how much they are wheeled.

Got more work done today. Replaced 2 missing oil pan bolts, kinda stopped the leak. More or less just slowed it down.
Also got my Polk 6.5'' speakers wired up in the rear.
For future reference if you have a 90-95 4runner the rear speaker wire colors are Black and Yellow on one side and Red and White.
Picked up my new tow wiring kit and got it installed. All green!
Fired it up today and let it run to operating temp before i shut her down. Strong motor idles strong and holds a 900RPM's once its been warmed up.

Installed new speedo cable and drove 2.8 miles.
Ordered, received and installed a differential spacer kit from 4crawler.com. Helps a bit with the cv angle and not a bad idea for 25 bucks and an hour of time.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The big debate right now is:
Should I buy a 3'' body lift.
185 dollars shipped to my door from 4crawler.com comes with HD bolts and steering extension.
Pros:
Will be able to Clear 35" tires
Needed to clear 3.4 swap
Makes working on drivetrain less cramped.
Cons:
Hearing people complain about body lifts?

Put entire dash back together.
Bought a wire wheel and am in the VERY beginning of rust repair. Its only surface rust on most things like the hitch, rear axle, welds. All will be sanded, primed and painted black.

TRAITOR!!!
Jk, enjoy your new toy. You have to do what's right for you. This is not a cheap hobby so you should get exactly what you want.
Any mods upcoming on it?

I know. Ive been making fun of those ˟˟˟˟˟ 5 luggers for years and now I am one of em...till I get my 1 ton axles
Definetly not a cheap hobby. I always am trading off vehicles for something else so it was just a matter of time with my 4Runner, same with the wrangler.
It came with a 4 inch lift so im just doing regular maintenance on it right now, getting all the electrical sorted out and such. The kid I got it from was 18 so it needs a set of experienced hands on it.
Wheels like a beast tho!

I came across a dude way farther into the bogs up here than he should have been able to get. It was bone stock and crappy balding tires. He flogged the hell out of her. It was awesome.
He turned out to be a pretty good dude helping me score cheap parts later on. Sold me those FJ62 axles I have for $400.
