'84 Xtra Cab V-8
The time has come for me to sell my rig. Gas costs are just too high for what I make to keep it going. As such the truck has more-or-less sat for the last few years and needs some attention which I have been unable to give it.
Specs:
Known issues:
This is not a pristine truck but has served me well on the trail over the years. I also have some spare transfer case parts and most of an '83 front axle that I had begun to build up as a replacement for the existing one. These parts will be thrown in if you want them otherwise they'll be tossed.
I'm asking $2000 but no reasonable offer will be refused. Contact me via PM or email toy283@yahoo.com for more information. I'm located in the Denver, CO area
Specs:
- 1984 Toyota Xcab 4wd pickup purchased new by me in June '84
- 149010 miles on (broken) odometer, true mileage closer to 200k
- 1964 Chev 283 bored .060 over and supercharged (engine is tired and in need of replacement)
- Holley analog Pro-Jection fuel injection
- MSD-6T ignition
- SM420 transmission (pops out of second gear)
- Dual 23-spline transfer cases, 2.28 gears in both with All-Pro output shaft & triple-stick shifter
- OTT transfer case adapter
- Custom Ford 9-inch rear axle w/Moser shafts and disc brakes
- Rear Detroit locker, front welded
- 20-gal factory fuel tank plus 20-gal reserve tank from a Jeep
- Bed mounted Ford style radiator with twin 15-inch electric fans
- Onboard air
- Full complement of mostly Autometer gages
- Jaz racing seats
- In-cab roll cage
- 38.5 Ground Hawgs on 15×10 steel rims
- Quick release doors
Known issues:
- Right front birfield missing
- Steering could seriously benefit from crossover
- Speedo/odo doesn't work
- PTO driven OBA needs new drive pulley, electric OBA works well
- Engine has 80k miles on second rebuild and is bored to max now. Another small-block Chev V8 or 4.3 V6 should be a relatively simple swap as most of the hardware is already there
- No battery but will start with a jump
- Not currently registered but has good clean title
- Has been rolled onto roof once and onto driver's side door once
- SM420 pops out of 2nd (starting) gear
- Exhaust leaks at headers
