What load range are those tires? SL, C, D? I would be willing to bet they aren't a D load range for that price and are most likely an SL and possibly a C at best. You can look at the tire size marking on the sidewall and it will tell you the load range at the end of the numbers.

Like this: LT265/75R16/D 119Q B

Load range affects tire prices to a large degree. The higher the load range, the higher the price.

Dr Z made some excellent points (lessons Learned)

1.) Do your Reasearch on the Internet for the Stores you are dealing with to keep them honest!!!!!!! In this case Discount has 2 website options - Direct online Sales and then the Local sales pricing.

2.) Know the Product - SPECS, Load Ratings and Pricing for Tires in this case.

They are load range D:

LT265/75-16 119/116Q 8 P.R. LOAD RANGE D: 3000# at 65psi

Got a steal on them, I guess...
