Nitto terra grappler 265/70R17 P or LT?
I have a 96 4runner with the ome 3in lift.
I recently purchased the 17in sequoia 5 star rims with the 5.5in backspacing so I'm looking at the 265/70R17 size, giving me a good economy and size balance. What has me confused is that I've only seen this tire in Passenger and light truck load ranges. The only light truck tire is rated E, which seems to be overkill. The passenger version is able to handle my weight but is it strong enough to handle moderate offroad? I've search for weeks for alternatives with varying size preferences and load ranges but getting nothing. I've verified through search that this size will fit with backspacing.
I'm pretty much sold on the nitto terra grapplers so please don't try to promote another brand war.

I've had that exact size/wheel/tire combo for a few years. Have wheeled some moderate rocky trails and to my surprise the Passenger tires (aired down) did great for what they are.
E rated is definitely overkill for a DD 4runner.
