Cooper tire Discoverer STT?

AND, back from the dead
I'm currently deciding between:
Cooper Discoverer STT
Pro-Comp XTerrains or their similar M/t
I realize they are both made by cooper, and that the xterrains are not really the same kind of tire as the STT's, but the xterrains are buy3get one free, so come out to 150/ea for 285's
anyone have strong opinions either way? Ive heard stories both ways on wear for both depending on weight of vehicle
pics of pro-comps... not linking right >>> http://www.4wheelparts.com/SCT13T157.aspx

and now deciding between STT's (80%) and ST's (20%)
I think ive found all the comments/reviews/opinions out there so far, any updated ones? especially mileage reports or the like... I think I'm gonna keep my stock wheels (and newish yoko geo HT's) so Im getting less worried about wear and snow

so what is the final verdict on these tires as far as mileage goes? really like the look of them and would like to put them on my tundra in a 285/70-17. 90% or better on road, with the occasional trip to the sand and if it ever rains, some mud time.

lol, wow, so yeah....
I've had these for around 6-7,000 miles? (I know, real accurate guess
I have not measured them, but they seem to have an okay amount of wear, the whole time since before purchasing, my goal is only 2-2.5 years or around 30K
The edges of the lugs round a bit (expected)
My use is also about 90% on-road, with several 200-300 mile at a time trips (every other weekend). They perform great on/off road , air well at about 43psi, a little better closer to 50psi, but harsh ride. They started out REAL quiet, and have gotten noisier (expected)
All in all, I am still happy with my purchase, financially, purpose wise, and long-term wise, I really should have gone with the S/T's, but these look so much better, and for the few times I've really put them to the test, they were worth having
edit: oh, I probably won't buy them again, unless I've gotten a second vehicle, not due to the tire, but due to the fact that they shouldn't really be on a vehicle I drive this much... but really... maybe wasted 150-200 in accelerated tire wear, over 2 years, for a tire I really liked the look of, worth it

awesome thanks guys. i'm putting down about 30k on my tundra a year right now, so new tires every year would suck. i have 20k on my brand new in dec 06 tundra if that tells you how much i drive. looks like i'll be going for the st's and maybe get the stt for my 68 bronco instead.

WOW, thats a lot of miles, DO NOT GET THE STT's ... I also am guessing 30k because they can't be worn low in winter (not in SD though) but still.... They aren't the right tire at all for you
Stick with a good A/T, the S/T's will be my next choice...
maybe with 30K/yr, get a small car and/or regular street tires, and make up difference in gas savings to make STT's make sense

I dig'em from what I've seen.. I'm thinking about getting Coopers when the time comes, which won't be long. Thought about TerraGrapplers but am changing my mind.

i actually use the truck for work hauling materials and tools to the houses i work at, otherwise i would love to drive a car and save miles. but, with 2 kids i have to drop off and pick up everyday, im stuck with this truck at 30k a year. might have a carrer change here soon, so we'll see if i save some miles soon enough.
thanks again to everybody asnwering, and now to find a cooper delaer in the sandy eggo area. gonna check out the st's

ended up going with some Toyo Open Country A/Ts in a 285/70-17. they look so much better than my bald street tires, but they are awfully close to touching my upper arms. stock wheels. should I get spacers? cause i cant afford new rims now, or will the tires be fine as is?

Here is the link for one site I was looking at: http://www.mavistire.com/productcart...Discoverer+STT
I am looking at LT33X12.50R15 which states it is $ 159.00 each

Correct me if I am wrong, but I was deciding on purchasing Goodyear MT/R, but researched the Coopers and found them to be great tires, but I believe they might be cheaper than the Goodyears and offer great perfomance

I had theses tires for about two years. They were a great tire off road. really dug in for steep grades. On road manners were very good. You have to rotate them every oil change to get them to wear evenly. If you don't they will cup and become very noisy. I got off work to find my tire very low on air. Used my air compressor to air up and of I went until the next day. The tire shop said it was a huge chunk of metal and would not be repairable. I had a very difficult time finding these tires so I went with BFG atko and I'm pleased with them. They are very consistent as I had them before I went with the Coopers. I looking forward to gaining some mileage back with my BFG's.

A bit of a bump.
I just picked up a set for my Taco. Sitting at 3250Kms right now, I'll let you guys know how they hold up and perform.
Since it's winter right now, I don't expect them to be the greatest through the hardpacked snow and ice, but they have to be better than the balding bfg ats I had.
