15k mile update: Firestone Destination MTs
Just a quick update for you boys...
After about 15k miles, I had my truck in at the deal for a service. I asked them to balance the tires for me. They said they couldn't, as there was too much road force variation... that it was a defect in the tire. They also told me that even if they could balance them, they were badly cupped, so they would still shake.
I haven't picked the truck up yet, so I haven't spoken with them in person to find out more. But that's where things stand right now. The balancing isn't a big deal because of the weight of the tire, but the cupping is disappointing.

when was the last time the alignment was checked and the tires were rotated? if you cross-rotate them so all 4 will be in reverse rotation when compared to before, then the cupping will fix itself in a few thousand miles. after that, you need to know what's wrong and get it fixed.

I rotate them every oil change - so every 3k miles. I don't cross-roatate them, so I'll do that this week and see what happens. I have my alignment checked every 10k miles or so, assuming it's not clearly out of whack.

I rotate mine every three months, no cross rotation... I've got 18000 on mone, and I love them to death.... I will continue to buy these tires until I go with a bigger size (33x1250s are the biggest size they offer)
