The exhaust shop is in Garden Grove. The 2 places everybody tells you to avoid is Fullerton and Huntington Beach or Goldenwest College. I went to Goldenwest College
So I tried to go to Rio Hondo, but the lady on the phone said "it wasn't working". That meant to me she didn't want me to go anywhere else haha.
Oh well... I am almost there!

Got back to working on the RV again.
I needed a shorter Alternator bracket. So I cut it and re-welded it. I also used a shorter belt:
Napa micro-v belt # 25-040405
Attachment 201085
From the adjustment bracket notch to the first bend of the bracket should measure around 2".
Attachment 201086
Attachment 201087
The adjustment bolt was too long so I cut it where the bracket starts bending.
Attachment 201088
Attachment 201089
Although I shorten the bracket I can only fit an open end wrench between the bracket and steering box. Probably could have shorten about 1/4" and still have plenty of adjustment, but I don't want to do it again.

I've hit that point where I need to replace my drive belts and left the 3.4 alternator, tensioner, and bracket all stock length, but it's such a pain to get the open end of a wrench in there adjust it, that I'm considering having my bracket shortened like you did.

Now that it's been a couple of years (a late congrats by the way), how has the modified alternator tensioner bracket and shorter belt been working out for you?

Also lets see some pictures!

This is an excellent write up. Thank you superchiem! I am about to undertake a 3.4 swap myself - 2004 Tacoma 5-spd 4x4 donor, 1995 4Runner 5-spd 4x4 recipient. It's safe to say that I will visit your thread more than once over the next few months.
How's your beast running? Did you ever get it supercharged? You should post a pic of it sitting majestically atop a mountain or something.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply I am not here as often as I use to. Your swap sounds great! I would like to see pictures. The beast is running just fine. It doesn't get used as much as I want, but we are due for some camping trips. The supercharger actually went on my truck, which is coincidence because it is a 04 Tacoma 4x4 5-speed 5vz! The supercharger rotors hit back of the case and the supercharger is now dead lol If you need any photos I still have them on my computer some where.
I will try to take as many pics as possible. Hoping to get started on it this weekend or next.
