okay so a short update. im tying up loose ends on the truck right now. got the OBD-II plug to work finally so i could use my scan tool to read what the computer is doing. its pretty cool watching live data of your engines workings as your driving down the road. right now im building an "intake box" for my cold air intake to protect the intake from water spray and engine heat.
im still lookin for a way to run a hood scoop to cover the holes in my hood. figured id just find a wrecked 05 or newer tacoma that came with a factory hood scoop or a 2000 or so 4runner limited that came with a facory hood scoop.. needless to say EVERY junkyard i called was no help... 2 of them i called when i mentioned a hood scoop told me they dont sell aftermarket parts and to call big 10... THANKS A LOT JACKASS... oh well... so im still ridin with 2 holes cut in my hood.

aight so i been doin some more goofing off and finally got my cheap cold air intake kit pretty much finished up. still tying up some loose ends on the truck.
mount to hold the intake still. yeah.. its beefy haha
cheap china made crap. spacer that goes between air filter and MAF sensor
cheap fix. exhaust pipe adapter. woohoo
intake mounted. now to seal it up from engine air
hood from the flipped 4runner perfect to get the metal from
gettin it fabbed up
got it fabbed up. its pretty sealed up. im gonna use the weather stirpping from the back gate of the 4runner to seal it better.
i am still doin some tinkering with this thing im tryin to help this thing get better fuel mileage. its not much better than the 3.0 was

okay if i havent done it yet i wanna thank everyone on this forum for yalls vast information. im gettin most all the bugs worked out of my truck and its running better and stronger every day. i recorded 15.6mpg the other day. im gonna dive into the dash and fix the tach one of these days when i get time. as well as hook the AC up.. thats one thing i really want back is my AC on this thing.
oh and got to test out the 3.4s pulling power. buddy of mine chunked his driveshaft horsing around yesterday and i came to the rescue
if my truck had the factory 4.56 gears in it instead of the swapped in 4.11s i woulda had no trouble moving it at all... so im pretty happy with it... still gathering parts and saving up for the SAS and stuff now
