Wheel hub housing worn groove

So I am finishing up preping everything for my axle swap and came across a worn groove on the Wheel hub housing. I am not sure if this is normal since this is the first Axle I have torn this far into. Here is a pic from Toyospearo's SAS build that show the part I am looking at:

Now on his housing, it looks like there are two bevel rings. On mine, it looks more like a worn groove where the second ring on his is. Toyospearo was working on an 83 axle, mine is an 84 if that has anything to do with it.

My question, Does this groove matter? is it just worn from spinning with the rotor? My biggest concern would be to develop a leak at this point, however, I dont see how that would happen based on how everything goes back together, it seems the Knuckle grease is sealed on the back by the knuckle plate, and the seal in this housing should hold the oil for the axle shafts.....soooo Am I just overthinking this?

I thought I had come across a thread about this, but I have not had anyluck finding it again.

Any thoughts, help or input is appreciated!

Thanks,

OrRunner

Sounds good, only option would be to replace that part. correct? No micro sleeve or anything, like you would put on your crank end for the rear main to ride on? Thanks for responding!

So here are a couple of pics of the grooves, looking back at Toyospearo's, I see marks on his in the same place, however mine appear to be worn a bit more:

It does appear that these grooves are formed by the Brass colored hard plate with a rubber seal in the middle. Seems weird that it would wear like this. Maybe some really dirty grease with metal flakes got stuck? The depth of the groove at it worst spot is enough to get a finger nail hung up in, but not really measureable...

So thoughts from anyone? Still look ok to use with out leakage?

Thanks for any input in advance!

Think I am going to emery cloth them a little bit and give them a try. I guess if they leak, I can always tear them back down and replace at that time.

Thoughts, input from anyone?

Thanks in advance!
