well my order for the knuckle service kit is confirmed today. was hoping to get it today or tomarrow, but i guess i can just hope to get it on sat.

got myself a job and will be working all this week and probably all next week except sunday. so im crunched on time. think ima lose my bet to have the swap done and it drivable by the 10. but i am still going to push to get as much done as possible. for the whole cutting it may be a bit now, because the the only time i would have access to a shop is on a weekend and the only time i can get help is on sat.

this may just mean it will get done better then i had first planned, might actually spend some more money on some stuff.

got my knuckle rebuild kit yesterday, and found the pic of what i started with when building my hanger. will post pictures of it later.

should hopefully have my axle fully together besides the steering this weekend.

still waiting on some bolts, and trying to find the differance between the front spring bushings and the rear spring bushings. anyone know?

my cousin gave me some spring hanger bolts, so when i get a chance i can build my hanger. also i should be getting my steering figured out this weekend.

the only thing i dont know yet, and need to look around for is what type of grease people are using to fill the knuckles and how much.

On the grease, i hear Moly Fortified. Others can chime in if i'm wrong...thats what i've heard.

Now how much grease...on your knuckles there should be a plug that is tapped, and you can take it off and fill it up. Just pack your birfields, install everything. Then take a grease gun and go to town. 1/2 tube should be good.

Front leaf spring bushings are smaller in OD than rear leaf spring bushings.
Some pics on my website.

High temp wheel bearing grease is what I use. Last stuff was LUCAS I believe. It was a nice RED color and good and tacky.

ok its been a little bit since ive updated, been busy with work and my daughter. so i told you all tht the original axle came from a wrecked truck and the top trunnion bearings were shot, i also showed a picture of a striped out knuckle and a bolt i had to cut.

well thts what im waiting on. im trying to get a heli-coil for tht one knuckle so the caliper will bolt on. once i get tht it will be rebuild time.

but im not sure if im going to do the swap anymore.

tht is because i just got 1/2 ton chevey axles from my cousin today, so i may end up doing full width instead. or maybe do one truck toyota axle and the other full width. we will see.

nothing new yet. im kinda stuck on extra time to build the axle and tht the one knuckle has a striped caliper hole. so i have 2 choices
1. heli-coil it
2. get another knuckle

i cant find a correct heli-coil for a good price, napa auto parts only sells their whole kit and they want almost $100 for it. while i havent been able to find a knuckle for a decent price. well at least one tht i can afford after paying bills.

YES, THOSE FREAKIN BILLS! They shouldn't even have enough paper for that many bills!!!!!!!!!...... but sadly, they do hahaha.

You'll get it... Any chance you could ask Teuf if he's got a hook up on the thing you need? He's still up there, no?

Well, he has lots of tools/stuff, ....maybe he has the heli-coil or a line on one that would work? Worth a try, no?
