CO June 10th - Lil Tots Run - (Date Changed to Sunday!!!)

As some of you know Anna & I have added to our family with a new daughter. She is 8mos old and we're ready to introduce her to 4wheeling. So we invite all other "newer" parents to join us on a run on either sat. or sun June 9th or 10th (depending on what works best for most). I know there are several members that are in a similar situation as us. Since we haven't been out since mid-last summer and we'll have a little one with us we're gonna keep the trail selection fairly tame. Not sure what will be open by then but I'm kind of planning on Twin Cone.

Of course, all are invited but you've been warned this is a family run and occasional dirty diaper stops might be required

So, if you are interested in either day post up and we'll confirm the day and time depending on what suits most people as it gets closer to the date.

I hope some of you (non-parents) that we havn't had a chance to run with in a long time can make it too!

Details:
Date: Sunday, June 10th <<-- Note the Change to Sunday the 10th
Time: Meet at 120th & I-25 ( go east on 120th - 1st light - take a left into at the diamond shamrock / dicount tire store) at 8:45 - leave by 9:00
or meet at trailhead (will figure out exactly where for sure soon) at around 10 am
Trails: Ironclads to start and then if we are all still up for it (kids mainly) we'll hit Miller Rock.
Misc: CB channel 4 - bring lunch, camera, and whatever else you and your little one might need.

John

When we did moody hill/crystal mountain last fall, Crux and his wife had their baby along, and dirty diaper stops were actually really cool.

Gave everyone a chance to get out of the truck and stretch, and chat a little more than is normal.

Made for a really nice day. They had to bail a little early cuz the tike had had enough, but it worked well.

As far as open, i'm pretty sure that Twin Cone will be almost or completely snow free. Middle St. Vrain and Coney flats are also supposed to be open. China Wall should also be open, and its just a little farther along than Twin Cone. Thats mostly all of the mild trails i can think of that aren't too far away.

Sounds fun. I could probably do a run on Sunday the 10th and bring my little Anna with me (she's actually 5 now).

Twin Cone sounds good.

if its something close im up for it OR if i can get round tires before then. I really want to run middle st.vrain and coney flats. Bunce is all open now an they are all close so those who want to run them all can and the ones who have to bail can between trails.

Great idea! My boy just got out of diapers , but potty breaks are quite frequent, as is the occasional car sickness from bouncing around on the trail.

From what I can see right now, either day seems reasonable, but need to check with my "scheduling coordinator" to confirm.

Turns out we have a dance recital at 2:00 on Saturday, so Sunday is probably my only option for this run. Hopefully it'll work out.

I'd like to make it and see how the little one does.
Can't guarantee anything yet, but I'll keep an eye on this thread!

That's funny. I just found out we have a dance recital on Sunday at 4pm. So I would have to leave the trail early afternoon on Sunday, but still doable.

Well, I know it won't be twin cone - sounds like it's still closed and might be for a while. Waiting to hear back from some trip reports this weekend to see some other trail options - I know miller rock is passable and that is up by bunce school road, middle st. vrain, ironclads, etc. These might be the next viable option.

I'll keep you posted.

Ok, it seems like most people with the littlest "tots" have said saturday works best so I'm gonna go ahead and plan this for Saturday the 9th of June.

If the time or meeting place is a big issue for anyone let me kniow and we can adjust it. Sorry to all who wanted to go on Sunday - we'll have to hook up on another run soon.

John

Hmmmm. I guess I'll have to see what I can do.

Any guesses on how long it might take to do the ironclad loop? If I can't figure out another plan, I could try and get in and out by 1:00ish so I'm back in Louisville by 2:00. I hate to rush tho.

If not, I'll see you guys next time.
