Hey all, Name's Russ. Had an account on here for a while, but haven't had internet access, so haven't posted in a llllloooonnnnngggg time.

Anywho, since my last post, totalled my '90 reg. cab 3.0 4x4. Got myself a T100 to replace it. Since then, I've been adding parts here and there.

Now, on to the question. I had headers on my 3.0 , and boy were they a pain in the to install. Have thought about putting headers on the t100, but am starting to think more seriously about them. I was looking more towards the gibson shorty's, which look to me like they bolt directly to the existing crossover. but the issue im wondering about is that the description on gibson's website says they are for 2wd only. anyone have any experience with these headers?

I guess the best one to ask is Gibson themselves.

As far as I know, the manual trans 3.4L T-100 shouldn't have a problem with any of the aftermarket headers as you don't have a column shift mechanism to clear.

Are you looking to add a super charger to yer setup? If not, I'm not sure you'll see any improvement besides fer looks.

well, i am planning on a supercharger, in the future. money is tight, but i do have a little room to play with. that was why i was thinking about headers. i figured i'd see how much power i could get n/a, then add the supercharger. the last time i dyno'd, i put down 166 hp and 195 tq. that's with a k&n intake, poweraid throttle body spacer, and a magnaflow muffler welded into the stock pipe. since that last dyno run, i've added a electric fan, and done some minor polishing on the stock intake.

Just so you know...that throttle body spacer isn't doing you any good.

If i had a quarter for everytime i heard that, i'd be able to afford another spacer...

I know there is little to no power gain out of the spacer. The biggest gain I saw was in mileage. After putting it on, I gained about a mile per gallon in the city...

Any update on the headers? And are there any other header out there for the 97 t100 that AREN'T shorty style? Been looking for awhile now and can't seem to find any...

Some place up north of Seattle make some long tube headers and a "Y" pipe for it.$700+ for the headers and $1000+ for both.The link is in the parts department here I'll go check

Check out "obx" they have nice lookin set of stainless headers, good price as well. Thinkin a pickin em up for my t100.

The biggest problem with headers are the price over performance factor. I have always wanted headers and exhaust for all my vehicle but never pulled the trigger. Finally think I may have found I vehicle I would like hear a little better on the street. Vroom Vroom 250000

86, I pretty much gave up on the idea of headers on this truck. Not worth the trouble in my eyes. I out headers on my old 3.0, and that was a PITA, so I don't think ill ever put headers on another toy again. That's why I haven't answered this thread since 2010. So to answer everyone who is still replying, no, I never did headers, nor will I eve on this truck.
