It's a rebadged winch. Plus Quadratec is a H**p company. Run away.....

I think several others use the same winch with different paint and badging. Not saying it's bad winch, but you could prob find it cheaper elsewhere...

It's a Chinese made winch (whatever that may mean to you), even stated by Quadratec in their forum threads.

I'm researching this as well... On top of watching CL......

I've seen so much conflicting info on this... "Warn is best", "Smitty's are best".... I would think Warn has the best rep, no?

My buddy had a milemarker(he's up in the Sierras for years)...... It crapped out on him when he really needed it... And in a pinch and short on cash, he grabbed a Harbor Freight 10K pound one.... He's had it 6 years, uses it all the time,.. never had a problem. He just keeps it covered/coated with some anti rust and such.... Swears by it. It was supposed to be an interim thing until he got enough saved to just grab a WARN(which he agrees are probably the best bet on warranty/durability, etc.)... But he hasn't been able to kill the HF one just yet... so why bother? He paid 340$ for it with cover with a super sale online only thing with HF, and 20% off on top of that?

I AM NOT saying the HF winches are a great alternative... know nothing bout them really. Just sharing that a buddy I KNOW HAS ONE on his rig has been just fine with his, that's all.

Wabbit............. Whatcha think about the Nylon cable styles?

Red face

I have found with China built electrical equipment it either seems to work great and lasts or it fails within the first few days or weeks.

I have no clue about winches as far as warranties and getting parts if it is like the welders good luck.
