Smittybilt customer service

Before I get bashed about you get what you pay for let me clarify, I'M WELL AWARE! About 3 months ago I purchased and XRC 8000 winch. The winch itself seems like a decent setup and 5.5hp, but the Control box/solenoid could probably be built a little bit better. To get to my point, I mounted the control box in a very "vulnerable" position, where it was more exposed to the elements. Needless to say, after a good rain the solenoid started acting up until it finally stopped working. After a quick e-mail to Smittybilt, I recieved a quick response with a couple questions (do you have the first gen 4.8hp winch, or the second gen 5.5hp winch. and exactly how is it hooked up?) I responded with the answers, and recieved an e-mail requesting my mailing info. I gave it to them and they said they would have a new solenoid mailed out asap. I recieved the solenoid just over a week later and will install it as soon as the rain dies down. Point being, I know I didn't buy the best winch out there, but when it malfunctioned they took care of me. I know many will say if you would have bought a Warn you wouldn't have to replace the solenoid, but all i'm trying to say is that Smittybilt does take care of there customers. I'll probably buy a Warn powerplant Hp eventually and throw the smittybilt in the rear anyway. Just thought I would pass this on, for those of you who may consider Smittybilt products in the future.

Yes, the rain is getting old. If you have the money, I would go with a warn, if not, I really don't think there is anything wrong with buying the smittybilt.
