MAF postion in relation to TB

I'm redoing a messed up intake system. The previous intake consisted of ten inches of tube coming off the TB and connecting to a cone filter that sat right above the exhaust manifold. Now I have added a bend and about twelve inches of tube to get the filter down where it should be. However, the MAF is way back at the TB end. Rerouting it would be a pain. The question is, will having the MAF by the TB instead of closer to the filter affect its reading? If so, is it enough to worry about?
