HELP horn won't stop

I was wiring up the power and switch to my Hellas tonight around midnight and around 1 am, I attached the positive lead to the positive battery terminal. No problems there. I go to do the ground to the negative terminal, same exact way I had it set up in my 4runner, and all of a sudden the horn starts honking in the "alarm" fashion (like when someone opens the door without a key). i couldnt get the thing to stop. i don't have a stock alarm remote, its one with an unlock/lock on the key itself and a random green button that does nothing. without anything else to do and the horn honking at 1 am, i started loosening the positive to the battery and as soon as i touched it, the horn stopped (not a short, thigns still had power). i went ahead and removed it and finished buttoning up the inside and before i closed the hood i touched the positive to the battery terminal and it honked again. it is disconencted right now, sitting in my driveway, blocking other cars. why is it doing this and how can I stop it? I'm not going to try again until the day time at least...

As far as I know, it is the stock system. I just emailed the guy I bought it from to confirm that...

seems like I am constantly replying to myself but when I reconnected, the alarm went off again. I shut all the doors and pressed the hood closed sensor switch and pressed buttons on my key and it turned off. The battery is now fully reconnected and the truck starts fine. Thanks for taking a look at this
