DPF Removal
Hi, I really need some help in figuring out how I can remove the DPF (diesel particulate filter) on our Toyota Dyna 4x4 Truck. It has a N04C-TJ engine which a 4cyl 4Litre common rail engine. Big issue is we've imported it into Papua New Guinea, and PNG has really crappy diesel. I think the DPF has already clogged up after a day or so of use...as the engine light is on already. It's just going to be a liability, and there are no emission rules at all so it's not going to make a difference legally taking it off. Can I just hammer the guts out of it and leave all the sensors in place, working on the principle that if there are no guts then there can't be any pressure differential to trigger a cleaning burn? Doing an ECU reprogram would sort of be mission impossible...there's no one in country who could do it, so I'm looking for a quick and dirty fix. Trev
