When I did my first ATF cooler install, the toughest part for me was getting those 3/8" ATF cooler hoses onto the various barbs at the connections. I ended up grabbing the hose in some slip-joint pliers and twisting it on. I even tried soaking the hose in boiling water first.

Is there a trick to getting hoses to slip on more easily? I'm installing another cooler today and I'd like to save myself trouble.

lube up the inside of the hose with some trans fluid. it will help a little.

I use Silicon spray on all my slip on fittings it works wonders

also stick needlenoose pliers in the hose hole, heat around the pliers and then open them to stretch the hose, but dont strtch it too much

x2 on the silicone spray. It works amazing to put rubber hoses on.
