4A-GE engine swap
I am thinking about someday possibly swapping a 4A-GE inline 4 from the Sprinter Trueno AE86, an awesome drift car. The stock torque would be worthless for a truck (it's 1587 cc) but with a turbo added, perhaps a CT-26 from the 2nd gen MR2 Turbo or even a CT12A from the '93-02 twin turbo Supra, torque would be no problem. My main motivation is the fun factor. It could be revved to the limit much more often than a 22R/22R-E.

You might be in rather uncharted waters for motor mounts, and tranny adapters.
But I think the big question you have to ask yourself is: what are you doing with the truck? If it's a "sport truck" then this could be a neat swap as yes you can build serious power. But if you want to offroad at all with it then this might not be a great idea as you will only make that power up super high.

As far as offroading, I'd use my existing '93. The 4A-GE truck would be one built from the frame up from parts taken out of the Yota Yard in Denver.

The one with the 4A-GE would be used for sports driving on the road.

Cause thats been done before!
Plus the power to weight ratio you could make with a light truck and a 4banger like a 4AGE would be insane.
HOWEVER you would have to promise me to put a proper exhaust on it so you don't end up with a Ricer sound...if it sounds like a Civic I will hunt you down!

The concept is itneresting, but a tond of work..
Id prefer a Starlet with a 4AGE swap (what was the stock Starlet motor anyway)
2WD with an 18RG would be fun too - as well as stealth
