What gears do I have?
I'm having a brain fart. For some reason I feel like my 4runner (91 SR5 V6 4x4) has 4.88 gearing but I can't remember where I got that info from. Where can I check this?

Hmmm G254 which shows 8" 4.55 and open diff. I swore I had 4.88 in there, anyone else with a stick tell me what speed you get in 5th gear at 3500rpm on 31"? I'm right at 65.

G254 is 4.56's
You put your engine down but not if its an auto or 5 speed. Since it says G254, I am gonna say 5 speed.
Never mind, your second post says stick.
4.88's are more common to find stock in a V6 auto.
I have 4.56's and 31's, and I run about 3100 rpm at 70

Put all your info in here. It also lets you see what changing tires and/or gears would do to RPMS and road speed.

Lets try this again..........................

If you have a different link that is not in the sticky and should be, please post it in the sticky so I can update it. Thank you.

Maybe bc 99% of my posts are some sort of attempt at humor? I'll just go with that. No biggie fellas, not trying to be a jackhole, I just spent some time putting it together bc it took me a while to hunt down all those links whenever I needed em as well, I just want everyone else to benefit too. I don't need my own private sticky.

If you search an entire question, it limits the amount of replies
" I am looking for a way to identify the gears in my 4runner". Will get less hits then
"gear info" or "gear identification"
and no biggie. I notice you posted it the newbie tech, that's why you didn't see it, if you would have posted in 86-95, it would have smacked you in the face before you tried to post a new thread, lol. Hope you found out what you needed.
