Replacing 22re with 20r. Feasible, practical?
Long story short, motor in my '92 4x4 blew up 2 months after I bought it. Crack in block, not rebuildable. I can't find a replacement locally anywhere. A parts truck with a 20r is local and cheap...husband is a mechanic, should I do it? This truck was our only running vehicle, now we don't have one, and it sucks to bum rides from friends to get to work. Should I even bother with the 20r or should I keep looking?
Thanks in advance!

Other then a fuel pressure regulator and the ECU it should not be a major pain.
Because of the higher fuel pressure in the EFI you need to cut the pressure back for the 22R
The ECU off the 22R to work with the senors on that engine.
You need to getup and running if this engine runs good go for it.
Good luck
