No Spark 84 4runner

well i'm a newbie and i usually just read the boards and get my info that way however i could not find any threads that dealt with the no spark problem i have.heres the deal:

i did a tune-up, new plugs, wires, rotor and oil.the distributor cap was fine.a couple months later it started dying on me randomly.one dayi think i left the lights on by accident cause the battery died and i jumped it with my car. the posts were pretty corroded so i cleaned them up and after running for a while the truck wouldnt start after i shut it off.so i jumped it with my car again and my bro-in-law threw a battery from his cutlass in and it wouldnt start. and quite honestly i cant remember everything that we did but now there is no spark. we replaced the igniter(twice),there were a couple of fuses blown but they were replaced, the ic regulator. the timing belt is fine,we checked that.so we figured the ECU. well i removed the passenger side kick panel and the ECU wasnt there, instead there was some emissions box. which leads me to my other question, where is the ECU on a 84 4runner? it was in the right place on the parts truck i bought(88). so now my bro-in-law and i are completely stumped. can anyone think of another reason for no spark?

p.s. sorry for the long, unpunctuated, capitalized, misspelled paragraph.

Chris
