New Owner with some questions on my '89 4Runner

Does anyone know where I can find the part number for an 89 4runner tailgate lock lever? Mine broke when was removing the trim. can i order this or do I have to look through a junkyard?

I need power!

Good afternoon Yota Fans, I am new here and looking for some friendly advice. I have an 89 4runner that I just bought for 1500 and looking to fixer up. I am in construction but have never owned a fixer upper before or worked on a vehicle. I have electrical experience in construction but none in automotive. I have a simple questions that the diagrams and other threads don't seem to answer. I bought an electrical tester and tried to trace back to where the power gets lost and I am not getting any power to my center console switches. (rear window, window lock, and rear wiper control.) do you know which fuse controls this and where it's located? I seem to have power to both fuse boxes and all of my fuses are operational. Getting my rear window UP is my goal. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hey Nick:
welcome to YT...I merged your two questions into one thread and retitled it.

You can download the Factory service manual for your truck using the link in my signature.
Also check out the stickies at the top of this folder for links to parts sources etc. Lots of good info that with a little effort on your part you will find a lot of your answers.

Good Luck!

Best bet once you have the part # is ebay/craigslist. If that proves to be difficult then post an ad on here or try your local toyota scrapyard.

Thanks Shane, I can't find the part number but do you know what i am talkin about, the plastic lever in the tailgate that connects to the locking mechanism that goes up and down. It screws on to the metal arm. Maybe I can just crazy glue the old one back together......

That is the one wiring diagram I couldn't find. Thanks for posting. There are 4 wires that go into the switch. 1 ground for the light, 1 power for the light, and the 2 wires for the window lock. I ended up taking the switch apart and cleaning it with water(yes I let it dry completely before reassembling) and alcohol. It must have been dirty or stuck inside, because it now works. Thanks for the help.
