taking the front sway bar off, or at least disconnecting it will allow each side to flex more independently. However, with it disconnected you will experience slightly more body roll. While off-roading it is highly advised to at least disconnect the sway bar, or even remove it. However on-road, most people prefer to have them. personally I removed mine all together and just made adjustments to my driving style to compensate for the lack of a sway bar.

If you want to retain it, but still be able to quickly disconnect it for off-road use, I would look into a quick disconnect system that replaces the end links of the sway bar and allow you to disconnect and reconnect it easily.

If you want to remove it, just unbolt both end links, and remove the brackets that hold it to the frame and out it comes.

Hope that helps

I've not had sway bars on my truck for about 9 years now.
