egr valve broken?

egr valve broken?

hello

my egr valve opens and closes when i suck on the vacuum hose, but the engine does not

stubble or try to die....the idle does not change. what is going on?

let me know

i am getting a code 71

A passage is blocked with carbon, had the same issue on an F150 I worked on.

I've heard of people using a lot of different things, carb cleaner, gasket remover, oven cleaner, toluene (can get from a professional paint store). Remove the tubes before cleaning & use new gaskets to reattach. Just be careful you don't blow yourself up or burn your skin off. In other words, don't mix chemicals & follow safety cautions for whatever you're using. Wearing those blue nitrile gloves is a good idea - you can get a box from any auto parts or hardware store. Gasket remover melts 'em, btw
