Craigslist Cluster
Well, I was searching craigslist today and came upon this
http://portland.craigslist.org/yam/pts/2232407904.html
at first it looks like an SR5 cluster and I got excited and emailed the poster and asked some questions to verify it is from a 5 speed truck with a 4 cylinder and I also asked for a pic of the upper right hand corner, because I thought that is supposed to be a voltmeter and the pic I got back is
Isnt the ECT light for Auto's?

yup that's an auto cluster, will have to take some moving around the pins in the wiring but I have a auto one in my manual truck no issues, just no volt meter. Just remember that the oil pressure sender is different from what's in the truck now.
For $20 take that sucker it wont last long and I am sure you'll find someone willing to pay ya $50 for it if you still want the volt meter.

Thanks xxxtreme22r, do you happen to remember the pin #s off the top of your head? I still think it is worth the $20, I hate my dummy oil pressure light and no tach. I know I have to change the oil pressure sender also, so it will come up to a little more than $20 I guess.

not off hand, I can't even remember how I figured it out. I know one of the pinout diagrams is in the FSM though.
Mine's an 87, can't remember what year the cluster came out of, you might get lucky and not have to change anything around to tell you the truth.
One of these days, I am gonna figure out a use for those ECT lights though. Maybe for Fog/driving light indicators or something.

not all these instrument clusters had the volt meter. even the tach style i have seen different clusters. they even put a digital cluster in these trucks. the non tach style has two different manufactures. they had a denso as well as a yazaki. if you give me a little more info i can try to help you find what you need.

Well I went and picked it up, it was the guys wife selling it I guess, and she said it has been on craigslist for over a month with no intrest. Seems to be in good shape, hope it works, I also picked up a .50 cal ammo can for $5 and a one speed Taurus fan for $20.

So when I first hooked it up, the fuel guage was inop and the green ECT light was on, so I figured that I did have to move the pins around, I found on C connector you move the yellow with red tracer from pin 5 to pin 6 and presto it works. Added bonus is my temp guage never worked with the other cluster and I thought it was the sending unit but with this cluster it is working.
