Broken timing chain guide
So I had just pulled the oil pan off my 91 pickup to change the gasket and immediately noticed the timing chain guide sitting on the bottom in a hundred pieces. I ordered a new kit off eBay with; chain, both cam and crank sprockets, the cover, oil pump , water pump, front seal and all the gaskets. I am also ordering a new oil pump drive gear ,all 3 crank keyways.and A new distributor drive gear.
This will be my first "big"-ish motor job. I've heard that "as long as its on tdc everything is smooth." but I want to be sure....are there any other precautions I should take while doing this job? I plan on doing this on a weekend (fri/ night -Sunday) because it's my only vehicle and I need it to get to work.. Any help ,tips, tricks,or advice will be greatly appreciated .....I am new to this forum so I haven't quite figured it out yet lol...I'll post pics soon thanks
