Another rear window problem thread 93'
Hey so I have a 93' 4runner and I rolled the rear window and it wont go back up. I can hear the relay switch on up and down but no dice beyond that. I checked to see if it was the tailgate sensor by opening and closing while having someone hit the front "console" switch, and when ever the gate was open the alarm would go off, indicating the door was open, thus it's not going to work...so I think that's okay, and I sorta fiddled with the rear wiper while hitting the switch at the same time and didn't seem to have any affect ... so I took the tailgate panel off and have it all open, I don't really know where to start, and haven't located the relay... can anyone point me in a direction? and does anyone know where I should look for grounds??

It possibly may be the channels that rusted out on the bottom of the glass that the regulator arm's wheels go into and move the window. I am doing mine now and will be posting more pics to this thread here. There are more threads on this subject but that's the one I used to help me. Check it out...that may be your problem.
It also could be your motor. See if you are getting power to the motor by unplugging the blue plug and checking to see if you've got voltage there first. Do some searching on here...using terms like 4Runner rear window problems, 4Runner tailgate problems, etc....try to check the simple things first. KISS, man...
Yeah, Roger's site lays it all out. Let us know how you make out.

With the hatch down and the window motor unplugged you can make up some jumper wires .
Then using a extra battery power up the motor and see just what is going on .
just reverse the jumper wires on the battery to reverse direction.
This will then tell you if the motor and regulator are working like they should be and your problem is else where.
The relay is behind the trim on the drivers side behind the front seat.
Nothing worse then a 4Runner that the hatch window does not go down.
