22R Weber WK746 32/36 DGEV-IC replacing stock carb
What kind of bees can't fly?......NewBies! I am a newbie to the yota world and am having fun rebuilding a small grocery getter and gas miser. Found this site to be both very informative and entertaining. Thanks for letting me join. My project:
Rebuilt 22R Engine in a 1987 P/U with Auto Trans. I am in the middle of putting a Weber carburetor conversion kit (WK746) on the engine. Question is: what the heck do I do with all the vacuum hoses and other stock lines going to the original carb? Problem is right off the bat the stock vacuum lines (the solid mounted ones) are in the way of the new carb mount plates. I am searching or in need of some pictures and advice.

There quite a bit of information out about this with pictures if you search. But basically cap of all the vacumm lines you wont need them any more. The only two you need it the PCV valve running to the EGR plate that should have come in your kit and the vacuum advance on the distributor. If you just put a cone filter on the PCV vavle, it will make your engine start leaking oil from the weakest points.
heres just one link with pictures

If your refering to the brass tubing that runs around the intake.... Get rid of it. The only vacuum lines left will be the brake booster going into the side of the intake towards the rear. Then you will have the new EGR that came with the weber running to the back port on the Valve cover. The Timing advance coming off of the line closest to the radiator running to the passenger side of the carb. Then last the PCV valve that goes from your new weber to the front of the valve. I took every thing else off, and if it wouldnt come off i capped it. Just finished this project so pm me if you have any questions.

Yes EGR plate was with kit but removing the stock EGR assembly leaves an opening at the rear top of the engine block. Is there a block-off plate I can buy or is this going to be a manufacture onsite item? Can I use the stock EGR assembly with the Weber?

When I removed drivetrain and disassembled I did not mark position of tranny mount nor the engine mounts. I have been looking forward to installing the engine and tranny back into the truck and as I was replacing the engine mounts and tranny mount I noticed two things; one is that the tranny mount has a slight offset and can be installed both ways one way positions the mount forward and the other way moves it aft. Which way should I install? Two is; I cannot see the difference in the right and left engine mounts on the originals but when I went to buy new mounts they sell a right and left, how do I tell them apart?

Anybody home? back to the vacuume line issue. two lines to the carb, where do I plug the top line (closest to radiator) and where do I plug the bottom (closest to valve cover). The weber has one vacuum out let and there are two coming out of the manifold.

I have a problem that I believe stems from the truck sitting for a year or two before I bought it. The previous owner probably could not cure the hesitation problems and sold it to me. It also drops rpm/stalls at traffic lights. My first thought was carb mixture but it gets worse over time. Now it becomes hard starting after running for a while. Smells like running too rich when it eventually starts. I was hoping to change out the carb but I see a lot of small problems people have when replacing the stock carb with a Weber. I have enough bad experience rebuilding Japanese carbs to stay clear of that option.

22r weber 32/36 dgv carb conversion
i guess im trying take the easy way out off stock carb issues in these trucks. i am not so sure if the weber 32/36 dgv carb is the right carb i need. if some body could show me pictures of there 1982 sr5 engine that would be great! Also what needs to be done about the fuel regulation for this swap? does it require a high output electric fuel pump or can i use the stock mechanical fuel pump?
