1991 SR5 Pickup Smokes over 3K RPM
I've looked around a bit and haven't found anyone with a similar issue in this forum (at least not by searching smoke, exhaust, rpm and all combos there of). If one does exist I apologize and will delete this thread.
My rig started smoking a bit under acceleration a while back but it wasn't much and it was the cold of winter so I paid little attention. It sat for a month and I took it out a few days ago and it is now smoking (bluish white) extremely bad over 3K rpm. I mean to the point where I can engulf a 6 lane road with smoke that is obscures the visibility of all in the area. Under 3K no smoke at all.
I checked the oil and while I had lost some, it looked clean. I have also noticed a marked loss in power.
The best I can guess I'm burning smoke caused by a leaking valve seat? I'm guessing here because of the association with RPM but don't have enough experience to back that up. Can anyone help me out?

Valve stem seal(s) you mean?
Anyway, maybe. But it could also be your piston rings. Which would better explain the loss in power.
Either way it's full or partial/top end rebuild time.

burning smoke is usually caused by oil in the combustion chamber, a leaky valve just means a loss of compression.
smoke on acceleration is generally considered to be rings, smoke on deceleration could be the valve stem seals.
have you run a compression check? squirt oil in the cylinder after one reading, then check again and see if the compression increases, from oil sealing up weak rings.
