I have a 1988 22re I just completely rebuilt. Aluminum Nippon head, bored .30 over, LCE performance intake manifold (upper and lower), LCE big bore throttle body, Bosch 200 cc injectors, RGV Stage 2 cam and LCE cold air intake. I now have a high idle when it fires up. I'm pretty sure I have vacuum problems. Does anyone know which vacuum lines I can delete and which ones I need to keep? Also do I need to run all the EGR stuff? Thanks

Like he said before... SEARCH! Everything that has been wrong with my truck has already been mentioned in threads years ago. Having had significant vacuum issues with my 22r in the past, get a can of carb cleaner and start spraying areas of possible vacuum leaks. The engine idle will increase if there is a leak. The fact that 22re's dont have many vacuum lines it might be a bad seal on your intake manifold. FYI, keep the EGR if you're taking it through emissions, just block it off afterwards for better performance. This and much more information is buried in threads from the past.

Most of the other lines are pretty useful, suppose you could delete the power steering idle up valve:

For the others, read the FSM sections (like the EFI, emissions control, AC, steering, etc.) and understand what the lines and devices do and then you'll know how they should be hooked up and if you could delete them. You won't find one overall vacuum hose diagram in the FSM nor any listing of what can be deleted.

Thanks. Gonna check some of those out and see if I can get this thing running any better. I'm still trying to see just how much power I can get out of this little 4 cylinder
