[QUOTE=tried4x2signN;51437448]yeah dude... 79-80's are different...
Do me a favor though and see if a Tacoma rotor will slap over the hub, then use a IFS caliper...
whoops. After you do this...
Well I tried this... The caliper doesn't fit...
Grinding the 80' hub, that is a 2" piece of EMT, the hub spins on it to make kind of a lathe. It grinds evenly this way.
No go...
I'm going to look at this some more tomorrow, were getting some nasty weather right now. Weather center is calling tornado warnings. But, if this doesn't work I'm going to go with Jake's method of using the IFS hubs and bolting the caliper to the other side of the ears. He has been running that way for a while with no problems, and everyone I've read about switching the side the caliper bolts to has had no problems. Let me know if anyone has read about this being a problem. I'd like to see a pic of it too...

I am getting my parts together. I have a 1980 axle, it has the bottom truss to the U-bolts w/ 4.375 gears and the older style brakes. 6-bolt pattern that bolts to the hub and the hub has the wheel studs pressed in. I am having trouble getting the land cruiser vented rotors in 79-80 year range.
The newer type starting in 81 has the studs pressed through the rotors and pass through the hub and bolts with 2 bolts. My question is, IF I remove the old wheel studs and get the newer rotors w/ newer style "longer" studs, will they bolt up to my older hubs just using 2 of the bolts?
I'm thinking that it WILL work but I just want to check to see if anyone ran into any issues I'm not foreseeing here....
