i Have a JBL system and added a Kenwood with navigation. First you will lose all functions of the steering wheel controls. Second you will have to make a jumper harness and run it all the way back to the rear of teh cab. ALL the speaker wires connect right at the amp in the rear of the truck. It really sucks! I kept the stock speakers and added a sub. It's worth it to me because I did mine soon after buying my truck so I never got used to the steering wheel controls. I even called crutchfield and they dont have a harness.
If you need any pictures let me know. It's not that hard if can trace wires.

Oh also you have to tap into power, Illumination, basicly everything a harness will connect to.

I guess I should have looked into this before I bought all the new equipment. The steering wheel controls are a very nice feature. I think I just might pay someone to install.

The problem is that the steering wheel controls actually trigger somthig in th estock head unit. There is no way to get them to control an aftermarket stereo until somone is able to create a device to interperate the signal and translate it to the stereo. They have kits for other cars and trucks but not for ours yet. But there is always people out there figuring things out so dont get discouraged. And if you do find a way please let me know
