2007 4Runner vs. Highlander

Take a weaker car based drivetrain and install it in a heavier and less aerodynamic vehicle like the Highlander, and the drivetrain simply has more strain on it than it did in the car it is based on. Even though it is a Toyota, there is the potential for more problems down the road than with the 4Runner, with it's stronger drivetrain.
Either are great vehicles, but I would get the 4Runner (with 4wd).
