Got the shocks in today, planning on doing alot of work at once instead of fixing her just to break her down again in less than a month. So shock, electric fan, 3core radiator... Next on the shoppping list. New axle perches to legthen the wheel base, johny joints for my rearsprings, TG battery box, steelbraided clutch line, some diff armor and if have any more cash a upper gusset for my front axel. Got a few shelves built in the garage and cleaned out 1/2 of it ready for work. Proibly giong to mouth the lights today and hook up the wireing some day this week.

Just in case any one was looking to do the same project there is a few things to look out for. The gas tank will barley clear the body with a 3inch BL, The front of the bed will roughly have to be bobed 18 inches. My fix for the fuel filler coming out was tweaking the tank so the filler barley cleared the body to stuff it out. I recently put on a flatbed and orderd a fuelcell and this should solve some issues. ( i wanna take BL off lower my center of gravity)

I totally agree and I also don't like the look of camper shells that protrude up in the back.
I like the streamline look. Ya, it's an old thread.

i know its an old post but i thought id add my .2
currently swapping a 90z style extra cab pickup on a single cab frame biggest isseus need to relocate the rear cab mounts and gas tank. i have a 2 inch body lift wich gives some room but still had to cut the horse collar cross member and notch 2 inches above the frame because of the step up in the rear my gas tank also had clearance issues and the filler neck ends up way under the cab, looks like you could run it into the cab but i chose to relocate it behind the extra cab also choosing to run a flat bed, i did the swap with minimal tools and hardley an experience not as hard as it seems you just need to dive in there!

cab swap

I'm also swapping a 3rd gen extra cab onto my 93 standard pickup. If I have the list of big stuff needed, it's:
  • 3" body lift
  • Cut off and weld on the rear cab mounts
  • Relocate the fuel fill hole
I know that there's a LOT of needed, and other stuff, but my donor extra cab is pretty much stripped... What should I do to it before I install the interior stuff?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated
