NO. It can't hurt. It will be beneficial in your cold season, because it flows easier in cold temperatures, so it gets where it needs to go sooner during a cold start. If it causes oil leaks, my '89 with 192,000 miles would be leaking. It doesn't leak. I've used Walmart SuperTech full synthetic 10-30 since I got the well-used truck with 150,000 miles on it. Before that my bro owned it and he used whatever was on sale conventional oils.
