I have put these springs in both of the 87 4runners I have another set to go into a pick up.

As to how they ride ?? As compared to what??

I have used the 4Runner to tow home a few trucks on a Tow dolly to me they work much better then the old worn out ones.

For what it is worth I also used them for My 2000 Tacoma.

With any leave spring install i cut the ubolts and install new ones.

The worst part is the front springer bolt I don`t even try anymore I just cut the bolt head and cut the other end with a zip disc. and pry out the old spring.

The hardest part of the whole job.

New shackle kits from Toyota. done.

Thanks for the info Wyoming, you may have convinced me to go with these. Are you happy with the ride height? Does it pretty much get you back to stock height?

To be honest i never really looked that close.

Now the way the wheel wells are on this first generations it always looks by eye that the front end sits higher .

It just seems like the 86 87 88 4Runners and trucks just have weak springs all most all the vehicles I looked at the springs were just flat.

Im thinking of just making some extended rear shackles... something to raise my rear about 3 inches. I think they will be easy to produce and real easy to install... best part I wont loose that soft ride!

What is the stock arch height? Just for reference. Does any one know offhand, or know where to find it?

I know you don't like the Zuk Mod, but I just threw in rear springs from a Jeep TJ and it rides so much nicer than the worn out leaf's that would bottom out over every bump. It was an easy mod and something I can take out in the future if I decide to go with the Old Man Emu rear springs. I also spent $$ on good shocks, which is probably why it rides so nice, they make a HUGE different in ride quality - I've got OME shocks, OMEN98 shocks for the front and OMEN94 'Comfort shocks' for the rear. They're extended travel shocks for around a 2 inch lift (I've got the ball joint spacer lift up front).
