Can you give a little more detail about your truck?

It sounds like you are working on a 2 Wheel Drive Truck with an automatic transmission and column shift.

intermediate shaft to top shaft I can not find it. It must be directly in middle of
firewall if it exists. Any suggestions
or help would be greatly appreciated.

I want to add that my truck is a 1986
Toyota pickup with auto transmission, 2 WD, 2 BBL carb, 22R
engine, 1/2 ton shifter is on steering column. I really need help. All the diagrams have parts of the steering column but none of them are completely accurate. Does this column have an intermediate shaft and bottom shaft entering steering gear box? How does it come apart??All I need to do is replace the upper shifter bushing. How is this done? Steering column has to be raised 1” shifter lowered 1” or shifter switch
housing pulled off steering housing
but cannot find diagram or procedure to pull this. Can anyone
help? Tman123
