Rear Bumper compatibility question

Question.
I have an 1985 4x4 xtracab that I want to put a rear bumper on. Is there a year range I can be looking in as far as recycled or junkyard rear bumpers that will fit my 85?

Look up!

1984-1988 truck rears should fit.
Similar years' 4Runners' stock bumpers are no go.

So the stock bumpers are not cool but any home brew or after markets are cool. Right?

Depends on what your going for, stock bumpers are great on a stockish truck like mine. Aftermarkets are great for something beefy not so much stock.

I just need something to replace the one I have now. Not anything meant for serious offroading but if I find something that looks cool I'll get it. Anyway I'm just asking about the measurements or compatibility with other years In reference to frame sizes or ease of mounting.

My point was that any '84-'88 pickup bumper should fit any '84-'88 pickup and be fine.

The 4Runner bumper is different and wouldn't look so good on a pickup.

oem or aftermarket etc wont matter for measurements, its the rear range and model that will make the bumper fit.
