Oh yeah, I never had any problems with my lincoln locked 3rds. Probably used 20' of wire (ok, so it's technically a "miller" locker. lol) on each, haha. Axle shafts snapped before my 3rds failed. And I've actually haven't had a LL fail on my yet!

Only downside was going through 3 sets of tires in 20k miles, and the thrill of knowing if you hit that patch of ice or water wrong, you'll get a nice fast 360deg view of your surroundings in an instant!

been there in my firebird... with an open diff.

edit- oh, and in my '82 Dodge Rampage... but it was my fault for hitting the e-brake going around a corner.

^J-turns are fun. Specially when done in a truck like my dodge!

But yeah, entirely do-able with nearly any kind of car, but when you lock up ther rear... Well, you know.

Dang it I knew I should have driven to Texas to show "Soberthing" how to install an Aussie. Now it'll be months before he goes wheeling again and we'll have to listen to him complain.....

Just kidding ST, sorry to hear about your troubles and hope it works out for you.

It's not complaining, it's called venting. Lol

And "soberthing" as a nick name sounds like buzzkillington to me. I still have fun.... Kinda...
