well I guess I'm not the only one who is reading this...it's on page 160 in the 92' OM. Maybe I'll call Toyota Corporate tomorrow and see what they say..I started this thread at work w/o the OM...does say "when scheduled" not "when malfunctioning"...I guess I'll find out..

Yep, I saw that too when I bought my '94 (used). It already had too many miles so I didn't bother taking it in. I'd be interested to find out if any high-mileage trucks get this handled for free.

Hehe, funny. I just replaced the O2 sensor today, along with the cat, and swapped the exhaust manifold out for a Thorley header.

Wished I had known this sooner. Might have saved me the wait of shipping from sparkplugs.com

I'm gonna try my luck tomorrow with owners manual in hand and see what happens. My buddy who has worked for toyota for 15 + years said He was never aware of this and when I showed it to him he said they will most likly charge a 2 hour diagnostic charge to make up for the 209 they lose replaceing it for free. But he did say try it but to make sure to bring the owners manual with showing that it states YOUR TOYOTA DEALER WILL MAKE THIS REPLACEMENT(PARTS AND LABOR) AT NO COST TO YOU. So I guess we will see

..I could swing the odo back from 216K.....:P

Definitely going to have to look into this, maybe I can slide in there and grab some new sensors. That would be soooo slick.

damn i wish there was a post of someone who had successfully pulled this off!

I have pulled it off, but you have too many miles. Its slated for replacment at 80K miles, and you only get 1 free one.. .by 200K you should have done it twice, working on three times....
