Did you buy your muffler separate from the pipes or as a kit? I have not been able to find a kit compatible with my 90 4runner anywhere. My pipes are rusted and there is a leak from in front of my muffler. I think replacing everything from the cat back would do the trick but all I find are just mufflers without any piping

Thanks for all the replies,

I looked at the grill on my 4runner and its a perfect fit... so means anyone whos interested can do it..

Im gonna go back to the actual grill and headlights (it makes it look newer)

My 4runner says 171000 miles (but... big discrepencie, when I took my truck in for the recall it stated that it had 152000 miles in 2004), unless the person who had it before me hardly ever drove it... which is unbelievable.

Gamefreakgc which magnaflow did you use? part # "Magnaflow straight-through exhaust muffler"? which one.. sorry, but just need like a part # or a link would be great!

"Cheap, take a look for me and see how those headlights are staying in that grill.."

There are in there perfect, geez, it looks like it just bolts on perfectly.... ?

Ok so im gonna do the air box mod this week, and get a muffler (it needs one right away, mines is broken in half!)...

Don't let the HG issue scare you. If you're towing, watch your temperature gauge, if it starts getting past midway, then pull off and let it cool. Same with the transmission......230k on mine and towed a 3000lb camper in the PA hills. My HG only failed after letting the coolent get low and overheating. Replacement was a pain, but not expensive.

Also.....that is a beautiful ride,...wheres the rust?

I didn't do the work myself, I had a shop install it. Piping, muffler, new tip, all installed for $275. The shop I went to make their own piping and bent it where necessary. I don't have a welder or the skills to do that so it wasn't an option to do it myself. Plus, the shop did an awesome job, they even gave me some tips to help it run faster (K&N filter) and clear up a few engine problems I had.

About Magnaflow: All of their mufflers are the straight-through high flow design. That's why they are recommended for our trucks (along with Borla if you can find one). I'll look later today and try and find the specific part #, I know it's the oval type I just don't know the size and if it's offset.
