New timing chain = Increased Oil Consumption?

He means that your camshaft is one link off being timed properly.
I think that's unlikely to impact oil consumption..

Is oil consumption actually up since you fixed it - or did you just assume that the leak was were your oil was going before?

It's hard to measure blow-by at idle... i wouldn't be too concerned about that. If you've got poor compression, that I'd be concerned about...

Its just my assumption as i was losing oil before but my truck was leaking from just about everywhere lol and i fixed all the leaks at ther same time as the timing chain and since then its still losing oil (feels like the same ammount as before) but theres no more leaks....

Yah i find it unlikely its off by 1 sproket just cuz the truck sounds to good and the timing seems fine.

On a compression check i had 171 on all cylinders...So blow by at idle isnt accurate?? i just popped the oil cap and oil was spurting out along with a heck of a lot of air...
