Before you go with a valve job, you might want to price a replacement head.

It makes no sense to me, but Philbert price it out in advance and found that he could get a new head for only about $90 more. Go figure.

I'm actually fortunate in the fact that I work in a machine/sheet metal fabrication plant. I can surface grind as well as port and polish the heads for the cost of my time. Hopefully I won't have to pull the heads at all, then again I might as well while I'm in there. Anybody have any recomendations for exhaust manifold mods to alleviate excess heat to keep these new valves happy?

i have similar problem like this as well.... really hoping what I fix over the weekend fixs it dont wanna do valve job with no garage, rain happens like today and im screwed lol... will be deleteing my egr tho!
