Curb weight for a '90-'95 4Runner 4 door is 3,760, whereas '96-'02 4Runner 4 door weighs between 3,440 to 3,740.
I would imagine the 3,440 is the 2wd and the 3,740 is 4wd.
If your brother's Runner is a 4wd, yours doesn't outweigh his by enough to make a difference.

What year and models are we comparing here? I thought you were comparing your TRUCK to your brothers 4Runner? Are they both 4Runners?

Just because it's faster doesn't mean it has more power. Weight differences won't make a difference on the dyno. I'm waiting in anticipation for the results.

Hey JohnBoy,
Comparing the amount of time and $$ spent on Nashman's rig with a 3.4 swap, I'de say my money is on Nashman. Heck, I only did two mods on my 3.0 (ISR/VAFM swap) and I've already seen a big difference (although) I don't have a dyno to back it up. I'm very confident that if I go through the Nash's mods lists I'll gain more power.
Like I said before 3.0 has a lot of potential and understimated.
my .02...
....dyno, dyno, dyno...

There used to be a guy on Toyota Nation by the moniker "ProBuilder" who had 30+ years of engine building on race cars under his belt. He modded a 3.0 to the tune of @ 275 hp and 275 lb/ft torque. He did HEAVY mods to the heads & intake, changed out to BMW fuel injectors, put a stroker crank in it to increase torque, different pistons, and some mods to the STOCK VAFM by lightening the vane & changing the fuel ration adjustment (for all you who say you need a larger VAFM) and God know's what else. He used to get 20 mpg pulling a 7,000 lb trailer. PB told me he figured he had @ $10k worth of mods including his time spent working the heads on a flow bench. A turdhead teenager pulled out in front of him & totaled the truck (1 ton single wheel) last year. I tried to buy the engine/tranny from him but it ended up going to a JUNK YARD & I never could get them to answer the phone....
