It is generally bad to force a tranny into gear. The reason you are forcing it (ie. bad pilot, bad pressure plate, incorrect pedal adjustment, etc.) doesn't really matter.

How bad is it? Unfortunatelly only time can tell. You could screw up your tranny syncros, linkage etc.

You may find that you can use less force if you put it into 4th, then quickly move into first.

If you end up replacing the clutch, get dealer parts. I've had to redo many clutch jobs because the shop manager kept getting cheap aftermarket clutch kits. I finally refused to do them unless they got dealer parts and never had any more problems.

Pilot Bearing or Shift Seat

BC Rider,

I am having the same exact issue with my r150f tranny.

Did you ever resolve the issue? I know this was 12 years ago
