Hey tofer, how the heck did you remove your doors that easily. I cannot for the life of me seem to figure out how to get them off without removing the fenders first....

i remove the door from the hinges... not the hinges from the body...

let me go take a pic

ok. heres the hinge. i take off the wiring plug connectors, then pull the 1 pin holding the black door opening stoper, then pull the 4 bolts (2 shown in pic) it leaves the hinges on the body. make sure the windows are down, then make sure everything is disconnected (stopper and wiring plugs) before removing the bolts... put your through the open window and suppor with your shoulder while pulling hte bolts. you ususally have to use a box wrench to get the bolts out. speed wrenches are you friends in the situation.

Genious! Pull the effin stopper... Man, I feel like a blonde. I just replaced those a few months ago, and I realized how far open the door goes without the.

Rep +1 for Tofer!

I was looking for a way not to touch my rusty fender bolts, that so conveinently get blocked by my sliders... Yay for no room to drill them out!

when you pull the doors off the comuter thinks that you have the window lock out switch turned on.... your rear passenger windows will not roll down. the rear cargo window will if you use the key.

Need some help guys!

I got all my doors off and have all my quick release wiring harnesses wired. When I put the doors back on every thing works great (even the power mirrors).

My problem is: when I take off the doors that little green key light on the side of the steering column stays on. It doesn't illuminate worth a damn anyway, could I just pull the bulb? Or would that still draw power and eventually drain the battery?

Might just try figuring out a way to keep the door open switch pushed in, maybe a piece of duct tape over it. Down on the door jamb, usually in front and down low.

I thought about that but those little buggers push outward pretty hard. I don't really want to have to put a little metal bracket there cuz that would just make it take longer to get the doors on and off since I haven't made the pins for the super quick release doors. I still have to take out the bolts on the hinges for now.

Thanks for the quick reply crawler!

And does anyone have any ideas about getting a lock on the glove box or are there other 4runner locking gloveboxes that would swap in to this truck?

What does everyone do for security with half doors or tube doors?
I'd be worried about my tools, my stereo, my info in the glovebox and of course my change for coffee in the center console.
Do you guys have solutions for security?

That's why I'm looking into the locking glovebox... Other than that, when I have the doors off I'm never really going to be far away from it or leave it unattended for very long.

Update: I pulled the panel under the steering wheeel and found that the little light is only 2 wires with a disconnect about 8 inches down from the light itself popped it and solved the issue.

ok, I have a question for you Tofer. How did you get the passenger side connectors unplugged so easily. I can't for the life of me get my hands up behind the HVAC box to get them up plugged. I've unmounted the computer to try and make room with no avail. How'd you do it? Thanks
