The turbo has very very little shaft play left and right and none what so ever in and out, and my turbo produces very little boost when free reving it works much better under load, also when I had the pressure pipes off I did t drive the vehicle any more than 500m around me house and the turbo intake was perfectly clean.
And now I have it all hooked up it does actually work, boosts about 0.6 bar, and it works well, but I cannot see into the intake pipes to inspect the oil problem.

You're not supposed to be able to boost from free revving it. Under load is normal.
Ah, I read 500m as 500 miles. LOL I was very concerned. But I realize now that you're talking about meters!
A little oil in your intake won't matter much. Ideally you want none, but it does happen. Hopefully it'll stop now that you've got all your piping all hooked up. Just pop the intake pipes off after some driving around and check them for excessive oil.
Where does your PCV enter the intake system?

Or make sure you mark the shaft in relation to the compressor wheel to put it back together the same way it came apart. On the ones ive rebuilt td04 and td05 i did this and they are still alive years later, just make sure it lines up exactly or a small imbalance especially on journal bearings will eat it up at the incredible rpm these things spin at

I would always default to having it professionally balanced as generally it will save the end user money in the long run.

I know this is a dumb question but, why does it have to be balanced, I would have thought a product with such high rpms would have parts that are Already balanced ?

Hey guys, I have a quick question, how do I adjust the boost on a ct20 turbo ? Because at the moment it only boosts 0.5/0.6 bar, and apparently theyrr set at 10psi from factory thats about 0.7/0.8 bar, I've tried the washer stacking but my bolts wernt long enough and it made no difference
How do I do it ?
