Creeper Joints vs Napa U-joints

So its time I replace the U-joints in the rear d-line of my 4runner, one will not take grease any more and hell they are probably the original u-joints lol so my question is does or has anyone run the Trail-Gear "creeper joint" it looks to have some serious beef to it but is it worth the $40 a pop plus shiping or should i just go to napa and pick up some of there "super stength" ujoints. im not in a broke down situation so i wanna do a lil checking before i buy.

I've seen way too many built rigs with the el cheapo drive shaft u-joints blow one out on something easy and then wasted several hours fixing the mess.

27% more strength for twice the price ... and either is over twice the amount of torque you can make with a V6 and a single case (1610 ft-lb to the driveshaft)... and neither is strong enough to handle a dual-ultimate setup (6557 ft-lb).

well as far as my drive train stats .. the norm 22re, 5spd, single stock tcase, and 4.88s. i dont push this one to the limits beings that it is the only thing have to drive right now but i do like to go adventure and play in the woods. im. i suppose that the creeper joints would be a bit overkill for it now that i think about it. This summer i will be doing duals (got the second case, just need a adaptor) and will have a new driveline made at that time. i have a few big camping/wheeling trips coming up this spring and dont really feel like trying to cheap it out and hope these last that are in it now.

Does any one have a specific brand that they run? has any one heard about the napa "superstrength" joints. i have heard some decent things about the tom woods gold serries, i might consider them.

I am still running the original Toyota ones, but when they go, I replace them with the Superstrength based on a recommendation from All Phase offroad here in Longmont.

The superstrength u-joints aren't bad, although you might make 3 trips to your napa to get a new set...the defect rate on napa u-joints is outrageous. also, always check inside the cap to ensure all of the needle bearings are in tact, hell, that it even has them. I worked for a napa for a little over a year, and saw lots of u-joints come back defective, as well as between 5-10 of the cheaper napa u-joints actually snap...so certainly don't cheap out, you get what you pay for.

well i ended up pickin up 2 of the napa joints today. i ended up getting quite a deal on them. the guy my work deals with at the big napa here found out that they were for me ( i use to work in the parts dept. at my work and bought a ton of stuff from him) so he cut a pretty fatty discount.. like $10 off each.. so for like 45 bucks i got both joints so i wont complain if they break lol

PS.. the first thing i did when i got them was make sure i got all the clips, and made sure all the needles were there, beings that i once worked in a parts dept. i delt with missing needles and defects on joints for big offroad dumptrucks and wheel loaders...really pisses a guy off when he pays up to 250 bucks a piece for u joints and the needles are missing
